Dyjae, 15:  “I live in Polo Grounds (Tower) in Harlem. We hear gun shots every night.”

Tyler, 15: “I lost my Mom this year, January. I lost my Dad when I was 12.”

Jordany, 14:  “This makes you think how lucky I am to have Harlem Lacrosse to save me.”

Dyjae:  “Me and my team, we all go through problems. But when we go on the field, we all forget that.”

Jordany:  “I started realizing all of the opportunities that Harlem Lacrosse gave me.”

Tyler: “They want us to make it into college and do something with our life.”

Coach:  “If we remember who we are and where we come from, we are going to win this game.”

Dyjae:  “(Lacrosse) became like a getaway for me. When I am on the field, I just worry about lacrosse.”

Jordany: “What am I going to do when I grow up?  I don’t know. There are so many things that I could be.”

[By 2020, 27% of U.S. public high schools could be without sports. The Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation has committed $25 million to support programs like Harlem Lacrosse and Leadership.]
